About the Instrument
Wonderful to play, this cello has a nimble and spirited responsiveness. Its resonance has fullness across all registers. The varnish is a burnt umber over a golden ground. Narrow flames fall delicately from the center joint of its two-piece back. A similar figure runs along its ribs, and the scroll is formed of a plainer wood. The front near the treble shoulder bears a small knot, giving it a distinctive look.

Interior label reads: “Jacek Zadlo / Chicago 2024  William Harris Lee & Co.” and bears the luthier’s signature
Length: 740 mm
Upper Bouts: 352 mm
Middle: 254 mm
Lower Bouts: 442 mm
