About the Instrument
This violin has a powerful lower register that opens up to a sweet and full treble. The varnish is an even light apricot over a golden ground with a curly grain across the single-piece back. Similar flames run along the ribs, with the neck and scroll of a somewhat plainer wood. The scroll has a lovely black purfling along its edges, which stands out nicely against the light varnish.
